"Health and safety is paramount at Universal AV Services Ltd, we pride ourselves on the continuous delivery of safe projects and promoting a healthy working environment, the fact that we are now externally recognised by CHAS is an added bonus!" Chris Gardner, Installation Manager, Universal AV Services.

CHAS, The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme is a pre-qualification requirement for contractors wishing to supply goods and services to buyers in the public and private sectors. As procurement becomes increasingly time consuming accreditations such as CHAS identify Universal AV Services Ltd and other companies, as competent companies in the area of Health and Safety saving time in the tender and procurement assessment stages for Universal AV Services Ltd and the buyers.

The CHAS accreditation allows Universal AV Services Ltd to build upon the relationships they have with their current customers in the public sector such as the University of Bradford, West Yorkshire Fire and Police Service and Bradford PCT delivering projects to the highest standard across our region.

Sustainability is high on the agenda for local Audio Visual Solutions provider Universal AV Services Ltd. In partnership with Ian Brown and his team at Green Solutions, Universal has managed to increase the amount of cardboard waste they recycle. Cardboard is a major bi-product of the services offered at Universal as Audio Visual equipment is always heavily packaged. Having liaised with Ian through the Chamber of Commerce Universal AV Services Ltd are now benefiting from the Whywaste programme and would like to say a big 'Thank you' to Ian and his team.

In keeping with the green agenda, Universal have recently become part of the easyWEEE programme set up by local Bradford company City Electrical Factors ,who provides full recycling of electrical products from over 400 outlets nationwide.

To top it off Universal are sending 18 employees on a Smarter Driving course provided by the Energy Saving Trust. The driving course teaches company drivers the techniques needed to enable them to drive in a style that reduces fuel consumption thus reducing CO2 emissions.

Universal would like to promote their contribution to Bradford's Big Plan 08-11, 'Sustainable Community Strategy' and encourage other Bradford Businesses to Join in!
