The Universal AV Sales and Supplier Event took shape in 2016, has gone from strength to strength and is fast becoming quite the talked about Integrator event in the Industry.

The event is unique, key partners and suppliers come together to discuss roadmaps and product with the Universal Sales and Project Management Teams, before a joint session takes place with all suppliers and Universal members looking at the industry as a whole and where common problems are whilst trying to provide solutions. The evening provides further networking opportunities for all, with team building thrown in for good measure, and where you have sales people you see fierce competition and this year was no exception with a closely fought game of family fortunes.

As the plane touched down rather bumpily at Leeds Bradford Airport, my thoughts once again turned to ISE and the grandeur of the Audio Visual Industries largest showcase really hit home.

Having spent 3 days at the event, I can safely say that my step count was well up, but was my interest in the latest technology peaked by anything that gave me the WOW factor.

The themes across much of what we saw was the same as in previous years, AV over IP and 4K (True 4K was the ultimate question though).

Was I wowed? Yes but of the enormity of the event again and the imaginative stands, but of the technology? Only of 1 thing – The Sony Crystal-LED display wall, but unless you have a few million spare that one is just a pipe dream…

So what and who did we see?

The Sahara partner showcase has become one of the must attend events in the calendar for AV (After Universal AV's Event of course), this year would be my first trip and I was a little excited to see what they had to offer.

The Universal Way

Here at Universal AV Services, we are always looking to push Audio Visual boundaries, whether that be the installations and solutions proposed, or the relationships and events we hold with our manufacturers and suppliers, and this year has been no exception.

Summer is firmly upon us here at Universal AV, although we do wish someone would mention the season to the weather, and we are beginning to see the fruits of our earlier tender labours pay off with some pretty fantastic installations and projects.

The offices throughout the Country are at their quietest with multiple projects taking place and engineers, project managers and account managers all working with customers to ensure that the season known as “Silly Season” runs as smoothly as possible.
